Overview

Hell Let Loose: Vietnam uses a 9-slot weight system for loadout building — every item you carry occupies slots, and you choose what to bring based on your role, the situation, and the map. This page covers every confirmed item in the game beyond primary weapons and grenades: deployables, tools, medical items, and role-specific equipment.

See the Equipment & Weight System page for how the 9-slot system works in practice.

Medical Items

Bandage

The standard healing item available to all roles. Applied to yourself or a downed ally after revival to restore them to combat readiness. Every soldier carries at least one; the Medic carries more.

Audio confirmed: EquipBandage, Bandaging

Morphine

A Medic-specific medical item that goes beyond a standard bandage. Morphine likely addresses critical injury states — the CriticalDowned audio event suggests there are injury states beyond standard downed that require more than a basic revive and bandage.

Audio confirmed: Equip_Morphine_Use

Med Box

A deployable medical supply box that provides healing items to nearby soldiers. Likely placed by the Medic to create a sustained resupply point for a squad holding a position.

Audio confirmed: MedBox

Ammunition & Resupply

Wooden Ammo Box

The standard deployable ammunition resupply box. Placed by the Support role to resupply the squad’s ammunition without requiring a run back to a supply point.

Audio confirmed: WoodenAmmoBox_Equip, Deployables/Shared_WoodenAmmoBox_Place

Explosive Ammo Box

A variant ammo box — likely a destructible version of the standard ammo box that can be targeted and destroyed by the enemy to deny resupply.

Audio confirmed: ExplosiveAmmoBox

Engineer Deployables

Repair Station

A buildable vehicle repair station that allows damaged tanks, trucks, and patrol boats to be repaired in the field. Faster than manual Engineer wrench repair — vehicles drive in and are repaired automatically over time.

Audio confirmed: RepairStation, Deployable_RepairStation_

Tripwire

A placeable trap that detonates when an enemy crosses it. The audio event Tripwire confirms its presence as a deployable item. Likely placed by Engineers or Anti-Tank roles to protect flanks, garrison approaches, and tunnel exit areas.

Audio confirmed: Tripwire

TNT

A manually placed explosive separate from satchel charges. TNT likely serves as a demolition tool for destroying enemy fortifications, tunnel entrances, and barricades — a slower, more deliberate explosive than the satchel charge’s quick detonation.

Audio confirmed: TNT/TNT_

Barbed Wire

Deployable wire obstacle that slows enemy infantry and channels them into prepared kill zones. Works best in combination with Machine Gunner arcs — the wire holds enemies in the suppression zone.

Confirmed from: Engineer class guide and game design

Tank Traps

Deployable anti-vehicle obstacles that block and channel armour into positions covered by AT weapons.

Confirmed from: Engineer class guide

Sandbags

Deployable cover that creates protection for friendly troops in positions that offer none naturally.

Confirmed from: Engineer class guide

Specialist Tools

Wrench

The vehicle repair tool carried by Engineers and Tank Crewmen. Used for manual field repairs on damaged vehicles — slower than a repair station but immediately available anywhere on the map.

Audio confirmed: Wrench_Equip, Wrench_Use

Torch

An equippable tool with a lighting function — likely used by Engineers for construction in dark environments or for signalling. Also potentially a secondary repair/cutting tool.

Audio confirmed: Torch_, Torch_Equip

Binoculars

Carried by Officers, Spotters, and Commanders for observation and target marking. The binoculars’ LookIntoBinoculars and ExitBinoculars audio events confirm their use as an equippable tool with a dedicated optic view — not just a cosmetic item.

Audio confirmed: LookIntoBinoculars, ExitBinoculars, Binoculars/Player_Equipment_

Watch / Field Pad

The Officer’s tactical tools. The Watch (Watch/Watch_) is how Officers access the tactical map and place spawn infrastructure. The Notepad/Field Pad (Notepad/FieldPad_) is used for map marking and coordinate referencing. Both are equippable items that switch the Officer out of combat mode into command mode.

Audio confirmed: Watch/Watch_, Notepad/FieldPad_

Anti-Air Equipment

AA Gun (Static)

A placeable static anti-aircraft gun that any soldier can operate once built. Separate from the NVA Anti-Aircraft role’s dedicated AA weapon — the AAGun audio event suggests a buildable emplacement that provides anti-air coverage without requiring the dedicated role.

Audio confirmed: AAGun

AA Gun Wrench

A specialist tool used to build or maintain the static AA gun emplacement. Costs 3 weight slots — a significant investment confirmed from pre-release footage.

Confirmed from: Pre-release footage, weight system coverage

Signalling & Marking

Flare Gun

A single-shot signalling weapon used by Mortar Observers and Officers to mark targets for indirect fire and air support. The Shot_FlareGun and FlareGun_Reload audio events confirm it as an active weapon rather than purely cosmetic.

Audio confirmed: Shot_FlareGun, FlareGun_, FlareGun/WPN_Reload_FlareGun_

World Ping / Marker

The in-game map marker system used by Officers and Commanders. Confirmed as an active system (WorldPing) that places visible map markers for your unit.

Audio confirmed: WorldPing, pMarker, ingMarker

Radio & Communication Equipment

Radio / Spawn Node Radio

Spawn nodes in HLL: Vietnam use radio equipment to function. The SpawnNode_Radio_NVA_Boat and SpawnNode_Radio_US_Boat events confirm that patrol boats carry spawn radio equipment — boats can function as mobile spawn points when positioned correctly.

Audio confirmed: SpawnNode_Radio_NVA_Boat, SpawnNode_Radio_US_Boat
