Role Overview
The Rifleman is a front-line soldier — the heart of your force. They are responsible for destroying the enemy by fire and manoeuvre, taking objectives and defending them. Their role consists of working closely with their Officer and other members of their unit, advancing into enemy sectors and strongpoints, and providing support for more specialised roles.
The Rifleman excels when working together with their unit. Communicate and stay in proximity so that you are contributing to your unit’s reconnaissance ability and firepower.
Ammunition Box
The Rifleman carries an ammunition box that can resupply weapons and equipment for both yourself and your teammates. Stay vigilant for ammo requests from your unit — machine gunners, grenadiers, and engineers burn through ammo fast and depend on Riflemen to keep them in the fight.
Breath Hold — Long Range Aiming
For long-range engagements, holding your breath while aiming down sights will briefly reduce weapon sway and give a slight zoom as a result of your increased focus. Use this when engaging at distance — it gives you a meaningful accuracy window before your breath runs out.

- No specialist tools beyond the ammo box

Best Playstyle
Move with your unit. Hold the angles your Officer marks. Resupply teammates. Stay in proximity — your reconnaissance contribution and unit firepower both depend on it. Riflemen die fast when isolated because they carry no specialist tools to compensate.
Don’t sprint into points alone. Wait for the squad, push together, and hold together.
Teamwork Tips
- Watch your Officer’s markers and hold the line they call
- Respond to ammo requests immediately — machine gunners and grenadiers depend on you
- Mark enemies you spot; every contact passed to your unit is a win
- Stay in proximity to your unit to maximise your reconnaissance contribution
- Don’t advance past the frontline without the rest of your unit behind you
Recommended Loadout
The Rifleman’s primary will be the M16 (US Armed Forces) or Type 56 (North Vietnamese Army) depending on faction. Bayonet attachments are available for close-quarters engagements in dense jungle.

Advanced Tactics
- Breath hold at range: use the breath-hold mechanic on any engagement beyond comfortable iron-sight distance — it narrows your effective engagement window but meaningfully improves your first-shot accuracy
- Ammo economy: dropping resupplies for MGs and medics is often worth more to your team than your own kills
- Proximity discipline: staying close to your unit isn’t just good manners — it actively improves your team’s shared reconnaissance picture
- Bayonet ambushes: in dense jungle, a bayonet charge on an unsuspecting enemy at close range can be more effective than a drawn-out firefight at a disadvantageous angle
