Role Overview
As an Assault you’ll be leading the charge on the frontline. Strongpoints, trenches, buildings and hedgerows — all are fair game for you.
Using your primary weapon and grenades, you are a highly mobile combatant, able to relentlessly push enemy positions and lay down fire with fully automatic weaponry that has a quick reload. Where other classes would struggle when outnumbered in close combat, an Assault sees it as a fair fight.
With suppressive fire from your allies, you can quickly gain ground and put your loadout to good use. A soldier that manages to breach enemy lines can cause havoc as the enemy struggles to focus their fire in one direction.
This role is wrought with danger — but with great risk comes great reward.
Strengths
- Fully automatic primary weapon with a quick reload
- Highly mobile — built for pushing and repositioning fast
- Grenades for clearing trenches, buildings, and hedgerows
- Thrives in close-quarters engagements where other classes struggle
- Capable of breaching enemy lines and disrupting their defensive cohesion
Weaknesses
- High exposure role — leading the charge means taking fire first
- Dependent on allied suppression to gain ground safely
- Less effective at range than rifle-based classes
- Requires good situational awareness to avoid being surrounded after a breach
Best Playstyle
Push hard under cover of suppressive fire from your allies. Your window to advance is when the enemy’s heads are down — coordinate with your unit and move the moment suppression lands. Once you breach, move fast and cause disruption before the enemy can reorganise their fire.
Strongpoints, trenches, buildings, and hedgerows are your domain. Don’t fight in the open at range — get into the positions the enemy is holding and take them apart at close quarters.
Teamwork Tips
- Coordinate your push timing with allies laying down suppressive fire
- Communicate your breach to your unit — a breached position is only exploitable if your team follows up
- Use grenades to clear positions before entering, not after you’re already inside
- After breaching enemy lines, push through rather than stopping — a soldier disrupting the enemy rear is harder to deal with than one fighting the front
- Fall back to regroup if suppression drops; don’t hold a breach alone
Recommended Loadout
Fully automatic primary weapon with quick reload, grenades. Specific weapons and loadout slot options will be confirmed and added here after launch.
Advanced Tactics
- Suppression windows: learn to read when enemy fire drops — that’s your moment to move. An experienced Assault times their push to the second allied suppression peaks
- Hedgerow and trench clearing: use grenades to force enemies out of cover before closing in rather than fighting them in their prepared positions
- Post-breach disruption: once through enemy lines, your presence behind them forces the enemy to split attention — even without kills, you’re degrading their ability to defend
- Building clears: fully automatic fire in close quarters is where the Assault’s quick reload earns its keep — clear room by room, don’t push multiple angles at once
