The First Wide Public Test

From May 29 at 5 AM EST to June 1 at 5 AM EST, anyone with a PC and Steam can play Hell Let Loose: Vietnam for free. It’s the franchise’s first wide public test of the new game — and the first time most players will see the new mechanics in action.

The beta is PC only (sorry, console players — you’re waiting until June 18).

What’s Confirmed for the Beta

  • One map: Thanh Hóa Bridge — a river-crossing battleground rooted in Operation Rolling Thunder history
  • All major new mechanics enabled: helicopters, tunnels, patrol boats, new jungle combat
  • Both factions playable — US Armed Forces and NVA
  • 17 confirmed roles available across the 6 battlefield units

What to Test First

If you can only play a few hours, prioritise:

  1. Helicopter flight — get a feel for the flight model, AA threat, and LZ approach
  2. Tunnel play (NVA) — figure out how tunnel networks are built and used
  3. Patrol boats — river fighting is brand new for the series
  4. Bayonet melee — both M16 and Type 56 reportedly come with bayonet options

What to Bring Back to the Community

Wiki value comes from community testing. After your beta sessions, share:

  • Map layouts and key positions on Thanh Hóa Bridge
  • Helicopter approach corridors that worked / didn’t
  • Tunnel placement strategies
  • Weapon handling notes — recoil, range, time-to-kill impressions
  • Bug reports — devs are actively listening this close to launch

Drop notes in our Discord and we’ll fold the best community findings directly into the wiki.

Expect Rough Edges

Open betas this close to launch are typically polished, but expect:

  • Occasional crashes
  • Balance changes between beta and launch
  • Performance variability
  • Network hiccups during peak hours

This isn’t the final game — feedback now genuinely affects the launch build.

See you in the jungle.
