Overview

Thanh Hóa Bridge is the first publicly playable map of Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, featured exclusively in the open beta (May 29 – June 1, 2026) and confirmed for the full launch on June 18. The map is built around a strategic river crossing — the Hàm Rồng (Dragon’s Jaw) Bridge — and reconstructs one of the most historically significant aerial targets of the Vietnam War.

Historical Context

The real Thanh Hóa Bridge was a vital logistics artery for North Vietnamese forces, carrying both rail and road traffic south. It became one of the most heavily targeted bridges during Operation Rolling Thunder, the sustained US aerial bombing campaign that ran from 1965 to 1968. Despite hundreds of sorties and major losses, the bridge withstood years of attacks before being damaged in 1972 during Operation Linebacker.

For HLLVN, this means a map designed around an objective the enemy is willing to die to defend.

Tactical Analysis

The bridge itself dominates the map — both sides will fight to control it as the central crossing point. Expect:

  • Long-range engagements across the river — sniper and machine gunner positions matter
  • Close-quarters fighting in the dense vegetation along the riverbanks
  • Vertical combat with helicopters dropping US forces, NVA defending from concealment
  • Aquatic flanks via patrol boats — both factions can hunt the river network

Confirmed Features

  • River crossing with gunboats visible in trailer footage
  • Bridge as a central, defendable crossing point
  • Jungle terrain on both sides
  • Multiple lighting and weather variants (all six launch maps support this)

Strongpoints

Specific strongpoint details will be added after launch and community testing.

Vehicle Routes

The river is the dominant vehicle artery — expect patrol boats to be the meta vehicle on this map. US helicopters give the attacking side significant vertical mobility, while NVA tunnels can provide surprise spawn points near the bridge.
