Role Overview

The Spotter has several important roles. They are an additional set of eyes for the other member of their unit — the Sniper — and provide close-range support. They can also feed back enemy movements to the Commander and other Officers.

Use the binoculars to mark targets for your Sniper and confirm kills. With practice, you can become a lethal duo.

Remember to keep watch for any enemies in close proximity — while a scoped rifle excels at long range, its performance at close range is limited. The Spotter covers the gap the Sniper cannot.

Being part of a recon unit, the Spotter is the only class that can place a spawn point within locked enemy territory. Use this to infiltrate deep within enemy lines and harass the enemy before they even get to the front.

Above all, communicate with your Sniper partner and stay in close proximity.

Deep Territory Spawn Point

The Spotter is the only class in the game capable of placing a spawn point inside locked enemy territory. This is one of the most powerful tools available to any role — used well, it allows your entire team to insert deep behind enemy lines, disrupting their logistics, harassing their spawns, and forcing them to fight on two fronts.

Coordinate with your Commander and Officer before placing a deep spawn. A poorly timed or poorly positioned deep spawn is quickly discovered and destroyed. A well-placed one can change the shape of the match.

Binoculars and Target Marking

Binoculars are your primary tool for target marking. Use them to:

  • Mark targets for your Sniper before they engage
  • Confirm kills after the shot
  • Feed enemy movement and positions back to the Commander and Officers

Consistent marking makes the Sniper’s job measurably easier — a marked target is a target the Sniper can engage without breaking cover to scan themselves.

Strengths

  • Binoculars for target marking, kill confirmation, and intel feeding
  • Close-range protection for the Sniper — covers the gap the scoped rifle cannot
  • Only class that can place a spawn point inside locked enemy territory
  • Intel channel to Commander and Officers — map-wide value from a single observation post
  • Mobile, low-signature playstyle alongside the Sniper

Weaknesses

  • Vulnerable if separated from the Sniper
  • Deep infiltration is high-risk — discovery destroys your spawn point and your position
  • Value is heavily dependent on communication with the Sniper and command chain
  • Low direct firepower compared to infantry roles

Best Playstyle

Move with your Sniper at all times. You scan and mark; they shoot. You watch the close ground; they watch the distance. You place the deep spawn; they cover the approach. Every element of the Spotter role is built around the partnership — operating independently degrades both of you.

Prioritise the deep spawn placement on infiltration. Once it’s down, your team has an asset that will outlast your presence in that area. Then work the observation post — mark targets, feed intel, and confirm kills.

Teamwork Tips

  • Stay in close proximity to your Sniper at all times — distance between you is a vulnerability
  • Mark targets before your Sniper engages — don’t wait for them to ask
  • Report enemy movements to the Commander and Officers, not just to your Sniper
  • Prioritise placing the deep spawn on infiltration — do it early, do it in cover
  • Watch the close ground constantly; incoming infantry is your responsibility, not your Sniper’s

Advanced Tactics

  • Deep spawn timing: place the spawn after securing a concealed position well inside enemy territory — not while still moving through their lines. A spawn placed in transit is a spawn placed in the open
  • Kill confirmation discipline: confirm every kill your Sniper takes before marking new targets — unconfirmed kills leave wounded enemies who can return fire or call your position
  • Intel prioritisation: report high-value contacts first — enemy Officers, MG positions, AT emplacements, armour — before calling general infantry movements
  • Counter-recon: enemy Spotters will be doing the same job you are. Identifying and reporting enemy Recon pairs to your Commander is among the highest-value intel you can provide
  • Spawn defence: once your deep spawn is placed, be aware that the enemy will be searching for it. Patrol the area around it and eliminate anyone who gets close — a defended spawn lasts far longer than an unguarded one
